This park on the Banana River is a great place to view wild manatees. You’ll also find public picnic tables, grills, a pavilion and more.
Astronaut Memorial Observatory
You’ll have to pay to enter the planetarium, but the observatory, science exhibits and art gallery at the Brevard Community College Planetarium are free to the public.
Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge
Most areas of Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge are free to explore. This park is ideal for hiking, spotting wildlife and enjoying Florida’s native plants. However, if you want to go on Black Point Wildlife Drive, you’ll pay a fee-per-car (we hear it’s worth it).
Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge
Spanning 20 miles along the coast, this wildlife refuge is a great place to enjoy pristine and quiet beaches, walking trails, and sea turtle exhibits.
The Dinosaur Store
The store itself is like a museum (although a museum is rumored to be opening soon) for dinosaur-lovers of all ages. This is a great place to stop on a rainy day.
